Our Lord! You truly know all that we may hide in our hearts as well as all that we bring into the open, for nothing whatsoever, be it on earth or in heaven, remains hidden from Allah. {Quran, 14:38}

"Your Stone"

Allah asks each of us, whoever you are and whatever background we have:
"...And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, illtreated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help." {Quran 4:75}

Seriously, what is wrong with us?? Don't we know that supplication is the best tool to get what we want? Don't we want this corruption to end? Don't we beleive that the reward of the Hereafter is so much bigger than we can even contemplate? How many times did I or YOU ask Allah to help those being stripped of everything..did we ask Him last week, is once enough? What is it, out of sight of mind?? This excuse will not hold valid on Judgement Day. Don't we believe that this situation we see on the tube can be happening to us?

On a slightly different note , but along the same lines, I've been wanting to post lyrics of a song by Sami Yusuf & Outlandish that gave me chills once again yesterday as I was listening to it. (Um'Ibrahim beat me to it, check out her blog posting of them as with other notes too by clicking the title above). I see those war images in my mind of Muslims being killed at the cost of arrogance and tyranny, especially those children who look like those of my own, men with beards resembling my own husband, tall strong men like my brother- being carried away on planks, and women who look like my dear mother- who scream due to true anxiety that many of us may never experience in our lifetime; added to people like these are the entire Palestinian, Iraqi, the Lebanese civilizations who share my love for ALLAH (God) holding onto patience and their dignity. By definition I am an American Egyptian, but by heart I carry nationality of the oppressed nations...not the nation of those who oppress and dictate democracy in a hypocritical fashion, and glorify terrorism as justifiable concept on their own terms. May Allah grant the oppressed security in their faith, worship, and deny them from losing hoping and rememberance that all affairs will return to ALLAH for justice. Allah is the Most Just, Most Fair, Al-Hakeem, Al-Adl.

Try Not to Cry
Sami Yusuf & Outlandish

"’re not aware...That we’re aware

Of your despair
Don’t show your tears
To your oppressor
Don’t show your tears

{Sami Yusuf}

Try not to cry little one
You’re not alone
I’ll stand by you
Try not to cry little one
My heart is your stone
I’ll throw with you

‘Ayn Jalut where David slew Goliath
This very same place that we be at
Passing through the sands of times
This land’s been the victim of countless crimes
From Crusaders and Mongolsto the present aggression
Then the Franks, now even a crueller oppression
If these walls could speak, imagine what would they say
For me in this path that I walk on there's only one way
Bullets may kill, bones may break
Still I throw stones like David before me and I say

{Sami Yusuf}’re not aware
That we’re aware
Of your despair
Your nightmares will end
This I promise, I promise

No llores, no pierdas la feLa sed la calma el que haze
Agua de la arena
Y tu que te levantas con orgullo entre las piedras
Haz hecho mares de este polvo
Don’t cry, don’t lose faith
The one who made water come out of the sand
Is the one who quenches the thirst And you who rise proud from between the stones Have made oceans from this dust

I throw stones at my eyes’cause for way too long
they’ve been dry plus they see what they shouldn’t
from oppressed babies to thighs
I throw stones at my tongue’cause it should really keep its peace I throw stones at my feet’cause
they stray and lead to defeat
A couple of big ones at my heart’cause
the thing is freezing cold
But my nafs is still alive and kicking
unstoppable and on a roll
I throw bricks at the devil so I’ll be sure to hit him
But first at the man in the mirror so I can chase out the venom

Hmm, a little boy shot in the head
Just another kid sent out to get some bread
Not the first murder nor the last
Again and again a repetition of the past
Since the very first day same story
Young ones, old ones, some glory
How can it be, has the whole world turned blind?
Or is it just ’cause it’s only affecting my kind?!
If these walls could speak, imagine what would they say
For me in this path that I walk on there’s only one way
Bullets may kill, bones may break
Still I throw stones like David before me and I say...

Try not to cry little one
You’re not alone I’ll stand by you
Try not to cry little one
My heart is your stone, I'll throw with you, I'll throw with you"

LOL we were on the same wavelength or something. The lyrics are so deep, yet sadly true.

The lebanese people never say that they are Arabs or Muslim. I have a sister inlaw who acts and behaves as if she is Kufar. When I went to Lebanon they had night clubs, Liquor stores, and empty Mosques. As you sow so shall you reap.

yes and this is the horrible state of some people who ruin the image of Islam infront of eyes of others. Shaitan is succeeding in his goal of working people everywhere, but at least over there it is not the majority..not yet anyway..
Allah knows best.
may Allah guide your sis-in-law and guide us all.
